Although considered fairly young in the gaming industry, Quickspin has a history of many chapters. Co-founded by three gaming pros in 2011, it was destined for success from the early days.
All three of them came from major gaming establishments. Joachim Timmermans came from Unibet while Daniel Lindberg and Mats Westerlund both worked at NetEnt before grabbing the opportunity to create their own gaming studio.
One of the most significant milestones in the company’s history was joining the forces with Relax, a Malta-based remote gaming sector in 2015. This worked a charm since “Quickspin required a platform and Relax needed customers,” says Quickspin co-founder Joachim Timmermans. He has since stepped down from Quickspin.
The next stage in Quickspin’s history saw the newbie brand being acquired by Playtech, the well-established gaming giant in 2016. The deal was caped at €50 million. As a result, Quickspin was granted access to the existing distribution channels across all Playtech markets.
Plus, in 2018, together with The Stars Group’s flagship brand PokerStars, Quickspin launched its content in Italy for the first time.
