Miami Mayhem Demo: Try Hacksaw Gaming’s Memorable Crime-Inspired Slot

With GTA 6 not due out until May 2026, players need their crime game fix in any way possible — even if that means the unlikely medium of online slots. Well the Miami Mayhem game from Hacksaw Gaming is a brand new release that takes clear inspiration from Rockstar Games’ iconic series, combining familiar imagery with the superb gameplay features that we have come to expect from the developer.

That includes plenty of free spins, missions and a large 15,000x maximum win. These are all ingredients for a memorable and unique slot, and we will flesh out all the details for you in this review. We have also included the Miami Mayhem demo above so that you can try it for free before considering a real money game.

Miami Mayhem Features

The Miami Mayhem slot is a detailed game and there are plenty of features included. These primarily focus around free spins — which we will cover a little later — but there are other elements that make this stand out from most other new slot releases.

Missions

What really makes the Miami Mayhem game stand out is the Missions side game. This is triggered by the Wanted symbol and unlocks the Wanted Level Bar. You will also be given three respins and a high-paying symbol will become the Mission Target — the aim is to get a win on the reels with that Target.

In the case of a success, the Wanted Level will increase by one and the respins will refill to the right of the reels in a smartphone. Missions are capped at level five, at which point multipliers will be higher on the Crew Reels; up to 25x is available at level five. Failing to complete a Mission with the respins will see a “Wrecked” message appear;  the Wanted Level will go back to zero and you will need to start again by landing the symbol.

Miami Mayhem Themes and Symbols

This is a beautiful slot from Hacksaw Gaming. Miami Mayhem is unmistakably based on the iconic Grand Theft Auto video game series and the developers have done a great job in ensuring that it still maintains its own personality. Of the GTA series, it is closest to the fictional Vice City — which is a parody of Miami — and the strong neon pinks and palm trees instantly set the scene.

Characters appear to the side of the game in a familiar style and holding a baseball bat. The symbols are also fitting — they include plenty of crime-based instruments such as a knuckle duster. Wilds will substitute for a regular pay symbol and take the form of Expanding Crew Reels, with each reel linked to one of the named characters. Crew Reels can also land some massive multipliers which can be combined if they appear on the same win.

Miami Mayhem Free Spins and Bonus

When you play the Miami Mayhem demo you will immediately see that most of the action does not take place in the base game, but instead when free spins are unlocked. There are three separate Miami Mayhem bonus games to enjoy, as well as a buy bonus option — let’s take a closer look.

Hit Free Spins

Land three scatter symbols and you will unlock 10 free spins. In turn, this increases the likelihood of Crew symbols landing and will kick-off a Mission with progressive Wanted Levels but no respins. Landing two or three scatters here will award you two or free spins, respectively.

We Split Free Spins

The We Split round works in a similar fashion — you need to land four scatter symbols for 10 free spins. This adds a Mayhem Bar outside of the play grid, which has a segment for each reel. If you land a win with an expanded Crew Reel then this is stored under that reel; at the end of the round, the Mayhem Bar activates and launches a Crew Spin with multipliers that are dependent on the Wanted Level.

When we saw this feature in the Miami Mayhem demo, it is clear that this is one of the best ways to land a major win and the grid does come alive.

Get Lit Free Spins

For the Get Lit feature, you need to land five scatter symbols. This is the most extreme of the three, as the Wanted Level is stuck at five stars and the top multipliers will come into play and at least one Crew Symbol will appear per spin. You should note that Missions cannot be toggled here, but substantial wins are still possible through the multipliers.

Bonus Buy

There are a few bonus buy options in Miami Mayhem. 50x your bet will add a Wanted symbol and therefore unlock a Mission. The Hit and We Split can also be bought for 100x and 300x your stake respectively. These are useful additions if you do not want to take your chances in the base game, but you should always approach them with caution — keep responsible gambling in mind at all times and never exceed your budget.

There are also Bonus Hunt and Beach Please options that can also increase your chances of a win.

Miami Mayhem RTP and Volatility

The RTP of the Miami Mayhem slot is solid at 96.35%, which does suggest that wins can be built up over longer sessions — hypothetically at least. This is around the industry average for newly released games, though the high variance does mean that payouts can be unforgiving; expect to get irregular wins that may be on the larger side.

We played Miami Mayhem demo free play to compile this review and did see plenty of winless spins, so take that as a word of caution — especially if using autoplay. We experimented with different coin sizes.

How To Play Miami Mayhem

The layout here is 5 reels, 4 rows and 14 paylines. This is something that any experienced slot player will recognise, but the Miami Mayhem game’s plentiful features is what makes it stand out. The backing soundtrack is energising and changes pace as you enter the bonus games — it really is befitting of a video game pause menu.

You can stake between €0.10 and €50 a spin, though given the high volatility that we mentioned, trying the Miami Mayhem demo first is definitely recommended. The burger menu icon to the bottom left of the play area contains all you need: there you can toggle turbo mode, turn off the sound effects, and get full details on how the features work — this includes the full values of each symbol.

Slotsia’s Review of Miami Mayhem

We have to applaud Hacksaw Gaming for the level of detail that has gone into Miami Mayhem — as well as the unique slot theme that is complemented by an immersive soundtrack. The bonus games are extremely creative and really offer a detailed experience that we feel will live long in the memory. If we have to criticise anything, it is that the high volatility can make landing a succession of wins feel like a slog.

Still, Hacksaw Gaming has created an original concept here that will certainly appeal to fans of the GTA series. The 15,000x maximum win is also a huge amount. We have embedded the Miami Mayhem demo at the top of this review so that you can try it for yourself before considering real money play.
