Misery Mining Slot Review: RTP Breakdown & All Game Features
Nolimit City likes to push the boundaries of online slots further with every release. Most of the time, it hits the right balance between tough gameplay and innovative mechanics. Misery Mining sees the provider take things underground once more, with a set of original features that re-invigorate the formula once more. So, is Misery Mining another gem for Nolimit City to show off? All will be revealed below.
Misery Mining Features
Nolimit City’s dwarven odyssey is packed with all kinds of mind-boggling mechanics and features that we’ve come to expect from the creative provider, including the following:
Collapsing Mine
Triggered by xBomb explosions, this mechanic increases the active play area, allowing for bigger and better wins to ensue. An xBomb explosion moves its adjacent reels or rows by 1, but if the xBomb is situated in the centre of the play area, then all barriers move by 1 step. Apart from the expanding mechanic, Misery Mining also features Collapses. This is a cascading feature that triggers when winning combos are made, xBombs explode without a win or 1 to 2 scatters land on the reels.
xBomb Wild Multiplier
The architect behind the Collapsing Min feature, the xBomb Wild symbol steps in for any missing pay symbols that could form part of a winning combination. Upon exploding, all adjacent pay symbols are removed, with a multiplier of +1 being added to any consecutive Collapse cascades.
xBomb Mining
If no wins occur, no xBombs land and the board has fewer than 3 scatter symbols, the xBomb Mining feature is activated. This transforms all present scatter symbols into non-wild xBombs that immediately explode. They subsequently trigger Collapse, increase the win multiplier and move the active area barrier.
Misery Mining Free Spins and Bonus
Free Spins are triggered via scatter and super scatter symbols. 3 scatter symbols are required to activate the feature, although any additional super scatter symbols will enhance your bonus rounds. The minimum scatter count will have free spins kicking off on a 3×3 grid, while 1 or 2 additional super scatters upgrade it to a 3×4 or 3×5 grid respectively.
Once through, players get to choose from two distinct bonus modes. Mouse mode is a more straightforward free spins game, with 8, 10 or 12 free spins available. Volatility is set to high. On the other hand, the Rat mode kicks things up a notch. Gameplay revolves around 3 re-spins that can be reset whenever a scatter lands. Volatility is set to extremely high.
The free spins mode locks in any triggering scatters and super scatters at the start of the game. These live in the active area, floating around to new locations on every spin. On this bonus board, reels 1 and 7 are used as collectors, while the reels in between allow for additional scatters to land. The bottom row and its prizes are locked and can be won by reaching them with xBomb symbols. But the most important element rests with the top row, which carts in random reel enhancers. These must align with the scatters and super scatters on the reels to activate.
The enhancers work in the following way:
- Coin wagers – Its value is added to the respective scatter and collected.
- Multiplier – Increases the multiplier on a super scatter. Any future coin wagers take advantage of the multiplier.
- xBombs – Opens up new positions on the sides or below the active play area.
- Bag – Collects all the values from scatters and super scatters. They are then added to the activated scatter.
- Chest – Collects all scatters and opens the side collector vaults within 3 reels.
- Dwarf – Sticks to the lowest scatter symbol. It collects all of the values within 3 reels for the remainder of the feature.
- Rat – Adds the values along collector vaults and collects them.
- Super Scatter – Adds more super scatters to the reels. It also adds 2 more free spins to the Mouse Mode or resets the Rat Mode spins.
Once all spins have run out, the winning values are all added up and players are returned back to the base game.
