Primate King Features
Where other online slots make you play the waiting game until you finally make it to the bonus feature, Primate King takes a step in the opposite direction. It focuses its efforts on the base game, introducing a tiered Wild system that combines various slot elements into its structure to keep every spin feeling fresh and exciting.
Primate Wild
As the main focus of the game, the Primate Wild is represented by the Primate King himself. It originally lands as a 1×1 symbol that simply substitutes itself for any paying symbol that can achieve a winning combination, although a few tweaks and upgrades along the way turn it into a force to be reckoned with.
The upgrades come courtesy of Primate Tokens that randomly accompany symbols landing on the reels. Whenever they land, these tokens are collected and added to a meter on the rightmost side of the reels. The aim here is to gather as many tokens as possible and unlock all three upgrades available:
- Tier 1: The Primate Wild turns into a fully stacked symbol covering 1×4 tiles.
- Tier 2: A Random Multiplier value is added to the Primate Wild whenever it lands.
- Tier 3: The Primate Wild turns sticky and stays on the reels until it forms part of both a winning and non-winning spin. From now on, the multiplier value increases with each sticky spin, although it becomes non-sticky after the first non-winning spin.
After reaching the third tier, the upgrade meter will turn into a 6th reel that only includes high paying symbols. This stays in place, together with a fully upgraded Primate Wild as long as you keep playing the game at the same casino and at the same stake.
Primate Smash Feature
If the Primate Wild lands without forming part of a winning combination, there is a chance of the Primate Smash feature triggering. When this happens, the Primate King will smash the reels, removing all low paying symbols in the process. In turn, the empty spaces will be filled with high paying symbols and a win is guaranteed to come out of it.
