I Played The Brand New Big Bass Bonanza 1000 Slot and This Is What I Found

Pragmatic Play’s commitment to the fan favourite Big Bass Bonanza series has never been in question, with the developer frequently adding to the number of releases in the last few years.

The latest instalment, Big Bass Bonanza 1000, is being released on April 24th at all major online casinos, but Slotsia editor Ben Boland managed to get early access to the demo and below are his thoughts.

Theme

As we have come to expect from Pragmatic Play, each fishing expedition has a slightly different feel, building on the original Big Bass Bonanza slot from 2020. Much like that title, Big Bass Bonanza 1000 takes place underwater and while the background has been rendered to a higher standard, the symbols remain much the same – different letters and fishing gear, such as a rod, bait and valuable fish symbols are all on display.

Big Bass Amazon Xtreme had plenty of nudges to let you know the setting, while for Big Bass Bonanza 1000, things are kept pretty generic but you can still easily navigate your way around and there are some useful tools to the left of the screen where you can toggle the bet feature or buy super free spins with ease.

Gameplay

I was very impressed by how smooth everything was in my time playing the demo version of Big Bass Bonanza 1000. Much like several other “1000” titles from Pragmatic – see Gates of Olympus 1000 – you are able to get multipliers worth 1000x your stake. The high volatility is apparent in the base game as I experienced long stretches without getting a major return.

Despite this, the maximum win is actually much higher at 20,000x, but you can increase your chances of getting the titular 1,000x fish symbols by utlising the bonus buy feature for 100x your stake, or 450x for super free spins.

I particularly enjoyed the super free spins mode, even if they don’t come cheap – this is where most of the action took place and where Big Bass Bonanza 1000 comes to life. Should you opt to take this option when playing for real money then ensure that you are gambling responsibly by sticking strictly to your budget.

Visuals and Soundtrack

The soundtrack is very upbeat and this is the first thing that hits you when you load up the game; while jolly, it can get a little repetitive after a few minutes. However, I found the saving grace to be the air bubble sounds and jingles that accompany a spin or landing a win respectively.

There is a unique musical number that appears when you unlock free spins through landing scatter symbols – visually the fish symbols jump out of the screen, too, which enhances the rounds. Even if Pragmatic Play has not created anything revolutionary in this slot, they have built on some solid foundations and made things a little more modern. It has certainly been created with a mobile casino audience in mind.

Verdict

All in all, I was thoroughly impressed by Big Bass Bonanza 1000 and it is certainly a worthy addition to the popular series. As with any Pragmatic Play release, visuals are memorable and catchy, even if there has not been a huge amount of development in the base game.

Still, as soon as you start spinning the demo it becomes apparent that the creators have focused all the efforts on enhancing the ways to win. Despite the standard 5×3 layout, the bonus buy options take the game to the next level and that is where you will likely see the major wins.

Given that Big Bass Bonanza 1000 is launching so soon, I suggest that you wait for our full review at Slotsia which will also include a full demo and a list of recommended online casinos to try it at.
