Greetings to you all! It’s another Slotsia Casinopedia article. Our very own Slotsia elves work tirelessly to come up with new and cool things and texts to share with you guys. Sometimes they want to tell you fun little things, whereas other times it’s time to get serious and discuss something big. There’s certainly a time for everything, and this time they wanted to give you some important information about what to do when you win!
If you don’t withdraw, you won’t win
Most of us have been there. Let’s paint a picture. You have just won yourself a few hundred extra quid from your favourite slot machine. You are sitting there in silence just looking at your balance and feeling ecstatic about scoring that one last huge win. You only deposited £20, but you now have £132 worth of real wager-free money there.
At this point, we sometimes feel our human instincts kick in. It’s a euphoric state and we’re feeling totally fearless. On one hand we’re happy that we’ve won, but on the other hand our feeling of invincibility makes us want to win even more. This is human nature—our mind always yearns for a little bit more.
What many people do here is that they decide to play those £2 and just withdraw £130 after that. For some, however, even this is not enough—they want to risk those £32 that they have and only then decide to walk away with £100. After all, why quit while you’re ahead?
Our advise here would be to just be grateful for what you’ve won. Don’t put a damper on such a great experience by letting your greed get the best of you. £132 is still a lot better than just £100, so do not be too obsessed with rounded up numbers.
The worst case scenario
When aiming for those even numbers, you are always somewhat flirting with disaster. What this means is that you’re taking a risk far greater than you might imagine. Let’s say you have that 130 pounds there and you decide to gamble away that 30 pounds. Who knows—the game might not be in such a generous mood anymore, which could mean that you lose your 30 pounds in an instant. After having such great luck just moments before, this might actually even end up frustrating you to the point where you keep on playing even after you’ve lost those 30! This is not a good thing and could even lead to things spiralling out of control and you losing those 100 as well! That would just suck, would it not?
Of course, what we have described here can be considered a sign of a gambling problem in the making. Still, it could happen to any one of us if we let our emotions get the best of us. We have said this before, but we’ll say it again: always be grateful for your wins and do not reach for the stars when you’ve already been lucky! Oftentimes we are our own worst enemies when it comes to gambling, which is why there are more people losing than there should be.
Set limits and stay within them and you’re going to get a lot more out of your experience! Gambling is supposed to be both exciting and fun, but you need to be responsible and keep your emotions in check.
