PayPal Adopts Gamban Blocking Technology
Payment solutions giant PayPal has become the latest company to help UK players gamble responsibly – by introducing the Gamban blocking software to its platform.
The technology allows people to block gambling transactions to avoid any potential temptation; this includes casino and sports betting in their various forms.
The Gamban app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store and, as well as barring gambling transactions, also blocks access to such websites across all devices.
Commenting on the news, Gamban said: “PayPal offering its users the option to block gambling transactions is a welcome addition to the gambling recovery toolkit.
“Between blocking gambling transactions at your bank and PayPal, blocking online gambling with Gamban, self-excluding yourself with Gamstop and seeking support from GamCare you’ll give yourself the best chance at recovery.”
There are currently two membership tiers at Gamban, with the service available at £2.49 monthly or £24.99 for 12 months. A seven-day free trial can also be claimed to see if the service is helpful to you.
Gamban is available free to UK residents through TalkBanStop, with a simple phone verification required, with the app also supplying a range of useful resources to help tackle gambling addiction.
